The Office of the Special Prosecutor conducted a search at KPMG and PriceWaterhouseCoopers yesterday. Twenty-two people took part in the operation which is supposed to gather information on whether Glitnir, Kaupthing and Landsbankinn knowingly published misleading information about their assets’ worth in annual and quarterly reports. Special prosecutor Olafur Thor Hauksson and Eva Joly are in London today meeting with Richard Alderman, head of Serious Frauds Office. The purpose of the meeting according to mbl.is is to examine grounds for co-operation. SFO took the initiative last month, as it has Kaupthing, Landsbankinn and Glitnir under investigation.

Separately, the Serious Fraud Office is understood to have contacted Eva Joly, the Icelandic government’s fraud consultant, in the hope of arranging a meeting.
