Price of alcohol is now 36% higher than it was at the same time last year. The result has been a decrease in alcohol sales by 14%.
Which, honestly said cannot be an altogether bad thing.
But then again, somehow we have to weigh up against the almost 20% increase in the daily shopping basket.

Seems logical.
Increase in food prices = 20% -> Increase in food spending = 20%
Increase in alc. prices = 36% -> Increase in alc. spending = 20.3% (according to same article)
So judging by this limited data, further price increases (above food prices) will only result in a decrease in alcohol sales.

Any figurs regarding the sale of yeast and suger?…then we now if people maybe have started to brew back home!
