A flock of sheep
You know the old saying, that you may change religion, wifes and citizenship but you will never change your favorite football team.
In a previous post someone likened the allegiance that Icelandic voters seem to have to their political parties to the one they have to their football teams. This is a common joke in Iceland, not one to be taken lightly.
In fact it is outright dangerous to pick a political party and stick with it until death. Things change, quicklier than we think and politics, unlike football isn’t just a game.
Icelanders are the most co-dependent voters in the world with the most alcoholic politicians. No matter what, noone in power ever takes responsibility, no matter how badly they have behaved and they are invariably voted back because “well, would you rather have the other guy” is considered a valid argument.
It is not.

So what do you say then to the people who’ve never voted for the current and former ruling parties (Sjálfstæði-, Framsóknarflokkur and Samfylking) but have voted the opposition parties dogmatically? Are they supposed to change their votes just for the heck of it?
