The Progressive Party is obviously focusing on the things that are most important to the nation in the first days of this parliament. Each party is granted a meeting room for its members and the Progressives have been refusing to move from the “green room”. Citing sentimental reasons for not wanting to leave a room that the party has used for its meetings for decades it is an interesting look into the small, dark hearts of political parties that think they “own” something that isn’t really theirs.
The fact is that the Progressives who used to be one of the two largest parties in the parliament are now only the fourth largest and second smallest. Times change but the pettiness of politicians is forever. Their self-humiliation is apparently limitless.

When are the elected leaders of this country going to start to work for the Icelandic people – and not just the people in the party, i.e. to serve the interests of the whole nation and not just the very few who belong to the party?
We voted them to work for us – the nation – in our best interest. Did they not get that memo?
