Ogmundur Jonasson has resigned as Minister of Health.

He handed in his resignation as he could not support the government on the IceSave issue which is likely to be back on Althingi’s table.

The government is meeting at 6pm. Are we in for yet another farce?

Update: The government seems to be trying the only sensible thing, to stick together. It is going to be hard to find an agreeable solution on IceSave but leaving the stage for the Independence Party and the Progressive Party right now would be akin to a national suicide.
