Bjarni Armannsson is a genius.
Quoted last week as saying it would be irresponsible treatment of money to pay a debt he owes to Islandsbanki, Bjarni has set the tone for his countrymen.
At a video store yesterday the clerk told the person in front of a relative of mine that he owed 1.200 ISK for a late delivery of a Friends DVD.
The person’s reply; “What? I owe you money? But I wold be guilty of irresponsible treatment of money if I paid you. Now go ahead and prove to me that I owe you.”

Ahoy there Anglers – Considering Professor Robert Wade’s comments regarding the lack of learning on Wall Street & The City of London from recent economic events – the tenets of personal responsibility demonstrated by global banking professionals particularly the Icelandic version test ethical modernity. The palate of the free lunch takers needs to taste less oyster and more corn. For those unable to resist gorging on the esteemed bio – valve a few bad oysters might also do the trick.
I remain one of the swine – at the trough – eating and enjoying the taste of corn. At worst I’ll get a weevil in my throat. But a bad oyster – or two bad oysters – all that salmonella from a gluttonous swallow. Now that is a different story.
Cheers, sweet forgiveness and kind regards to the flat earthers.
