The IceSave bill is the one Landsbankinn’s majority owners, boardmembers and management left without paying.
It was used by the government as an excuse not to anything else during the summer.
It was used by the opposition to stir up things in a world where they did not hold the reins anymore.
It was used by the UK government at least to save its own battered image at home.
And when Althingi finally could agree on provisions to the original agreement, it still had to be approved by the British and the Dutch.
It does not seem to be happening and it looks like we are in for round two.
And Johanna’s warning is clear, stick together or the government is finished.
And then what..?
PS: the photo above should be a reminder of the main culprits behind IceSave. Even though one of them is attempting to erase his part in the whole affair and another says has a clear conscience.
