Trying to educate myself enough about IceSave to be able to responsibly vote in a national referendum I find myself having 22 open tabs with different articles, pdf’s and documents.
I haven’t even begun to make my on-line news-round today.
I trust that everybody else who is going to vote is doing the same amount of research.
But I am far from being sure what would be the responsible answer in the referendum.

The responsible and HONEST answear for the sake of your children and your grandchildren would be NO to this last agreement(people have to be very carefull in how the goberment is going to present the quiestion(s)), simply NO, they have to agree to a better one or stick to the previous agreement signed in August. That is the honest an responsable thing to do. This is not about paying or not paying, this is about accepting to pay with this irrational conditions on this agreement or not.
That is if you really think about the future of your children and grand children, now if what you want is that Hugo Boss can keep on importing clothes that probably 50 Icelanders want to buy, and waisting forign currency on that, or Allsaints, wharehouse, Karen Millen, etc, which by the way they all belong to the same people, and you want that Partty budin can keep on waisting foring currency in importing extra expensive and useless things, in general keep all the shops and companies of the people that ruined this country open waisting forign currency, for a little while longer, well than vote YES. I hope its understud that companies mentioned are just a small example.

“The strange thing about the obvious is that is often wrong”
Well, I think that most people made a big mistake of messing up things about Icesave and responsibility of Iceland or Central Bank of Iceland for Icesave losses.
As said Alain Liepitz yesterday in icelandic TV – there are 94 european directives concerning responsibility and guarantees for depositors and no one states ANYTHING about a state responsibility for a collapse of a private bank.
I think that also another thing is misunderstood. The collapse of Landsbankin and Icesave should be treaten as taking place in the same time.
So the action of state of Iceland was to take over Landsbankin, and the action of depositors in UK and Holland should be to FOLLOW the existing rules, not implement anti-terrorist law and making claims against Iceland as a state!
Moreover, according to Liepitz and these 94 directives, in case a mother private bank based in a country outside EU went bunkrupt, the deposits are guaranteed by the state where its branch operates.
So the only reason for agreeeing to pay the Icesave agreement was somebody’s words, even if Prime Minister or Mr President said that all deposits will be repaid in full?
Italian Prime Minister Berlusconi says lots of stupid crop, but nobody takes it serious.
I can’t understand why there is so much fear among members of icelandic government about president’s veto.
Are they so much afraid that it means the end of their cabinet ? And these all their fear is about ?
So they are manipulating the public, not the president Olafur Ragnar.
Do they know sth that should be kept secret ?
According to Liepitz and others UK and Holland broke the law, and I start to thing that all thing may end with UK paying compensation to Iceland for lawless implementing the anti-terorist law and freezing icelandic assets in UK.
There are voices that actions of UK and Holland was intended to quiet the public and avoid bank run and to show how the governments of these countries fight for their citizens.
Back to the icelandic government. Is it sth what we don’t know ? Is maybe a secret deal made under the table that money were already given to pay that deal to quiet the public opinion and to shut up all speaking of a great risk of deposits in ANY bank operating abroad its mother bank ?
Are they crying that a great possibility to make another fraud will escape ?
All that want to pay that. Tell me why you think so ?
Per capita it is 20000 USD.
For Brits and Dutchmen it is 70 USD per capita – sth they loose every weekend at drinks.
Loan from Poland, 200 mln USD is 5USD per Pole. 3 beers or 2 box of cigarettes.
I am sure that if somebody ask in Poland – will you sacrifice 3 beers for Iceland to give them these money as a gift, I think 90% will say – “Ok, I can give even a 6-pack”.
So why the hell, some of you are willing to pay so much ?
Is this another aspect of some sheep sense in Icelandic nation.
They don’t know what they do ?
